Oracle and NVIDIA are expanding their partnership at both extremes of enterprise AI. At one end sits OCI Zettascale10, an enormous GPU-accelerated cluster promising 16 zettaflops of peak AI performance. At the other is a developer opening the OCI Console, enabling a suite of AI tools, and applying a model to business data without assembling the entire stack alone.
The connection between those extremes is the real announcement. Enterprises do not benefit from theoretical compute unless their data can reach it securely, their software can use it, and teams can deploy an application without months of integration. Oracle and NVIDIA are attempting to join the hardware, database, data-processing tools, and deployment experience into one system.
Their proposition is especially clear in Oracle AI Database 26ai: instead of moving sensitive information toward a distant AI service, bring AI capabilities to the place where the information already lives.
Zettascale Compute Needs a Fast Fabric
OCI Zettascale10 is designed for exceptionally demanding training and inference workloads. NVIDIA’s Spectrum-X Ethernet links the GPUs, reducing the time processors spend waiting for data and creating a route toward clusters containing millions of processors. Oracle says the platform can supply multi-gigawatt capacity using NVIDIA’s next-generation GPU platform.
Raw scale, however, is only useful when workloads can reach it. NVIDIA AI Enterprise is becoming natively available alongside more than 200 OCI cloud services. A developer can provision a GPU instance and enable the associated software within the OCI Console, removing a separate purchasing and setup process.
The Oracle AI Data Platform adds a built-in NVIDIA GPU option and the RAPIDS Accelerator for Apache Spark. Data scientists and engineers can accelerate processing and machine-learning work, often without rewriting existing code. Oracle AI Hub then provides a single environment for building, deploying, and managing solutions, including NVIDIA NIM microservices through a no-code interface.
The Database Becomes an AI Runtime
Oracle AI Database 26ai places agents and retrieval directly beside enterprise information. Its Unified Hybrid Vector Search can find relevant context across relational tables, JSON files, spatial data, and other formats. An agent can combine private company records with public information while the sensitive material remains inside the organisation’s controlled environment.
That design supports retrieval-augmented generation, where a model consults relevant company documents before answering. Integration with NVIDIA NeMo Retriever handles much of the underlying retrieval workflow. The Oracle Private AI Services Container will also use NVIDIA GPUs and the cuVS library to accelerate the creation of vector embeddings, reducing preparation time for AI search.
Security is built into the database story rather than added as an afterthought. Oracle includes NIST-approved quantum-resistant algorithms for information both in transit and at rest, responding to the possibility that encrypted data stolen today could be decrypted by future quantum computers.
Integration Is the Product
The partnership’s most important feature may be the removal of boundaries. Compute, networking, database context, retrieval, data processing, packaged model services, and management tools are being presented as adjacent parts of one workflow. That can shorten the distance between an enterprise question and a production application.
It also deepens the customer’s relationship with the joint ecosystem. Convenience comes from using components designed to fit together; organisations will still need to decide how portability, governance, cost, and control fit their own architecture. Huge capacity does not eliminate the need to choose appropriate workloads or verify an agent’s behaviour around sensitive data.
NVIDIA hyperscale and high-performance computing executive Ian Buck says the collaboration will streamline database AI pipelines, accelerate data processing, and make inference easier to deploy and scale on OCI. Oracle’s answer to enterprise AI complexity is therefore not a single breakthrough. It is a tightly connected stack in which the model can reach trusted data, developers can reach accelerated tools, and both can reach enough compute to grow.
